On the other hand, he quietly does understand; it's what sets them apart from everyone else willing to either participate or ignore the attacks on those who cannot defend themselves. It's a terrible balance to be empathetic but also pragmatic; Alucard takes no pleasure in ignoring the strife, but he also is trying to be efficient however they can.
