[On one hand, it's aggravating that Richter and Annette feel the need to stop at every possible vampire encounter on their way toward Paris. Time is not on their side, and Alucard is not keen to wasting every second on every attack when he's trying to beat the clock against Erzsebet.

On the other hand, he quietly does understand; it's what sets them apart from everyone else willing to either participate or ignore the attacks on those who cannot defend themselves. It's a terrible balance to be empathetic but also pragmatic; Alucard takes no pleasure in ignoring the strife, but he also is trying to be efficient however they can.

Not that a Belmont is always about efficiency, he thinks wryly to himself.

Alucard sighs, watching the young pair go to make their stand, and he turns to take care of the vampires on the other end of the scuffle.
